This person is ahead of the Church

This morning I received this query:

Hi,
I'm looking for a Book of Common Prayer that includes the new liturgies for Blessing of a Same-Sex Covenant and Thanksgiving for Adoption. I'm not sure how to tell which of your books are published recently enough to include these. Do you have suggestions of which edition I should purchase?
Thank you!

Here is my reply:

Hi N****,
Thank you for your message and query about a prayer book.
You are ahead of the rest of the Church in your desire for a prayer book that includes the new same-gender service of blessing.
There is a book that was authorized to be published by the Episcopal Church General Convention in July 2012. It is I Will Bless You and You Will Be a Blessing. You may view that book on our website by clicking on this link https://www.episcopalbookstore.com/product.aspx?productid=7322

Before the parts of that book that consist of the blessing ritual can be added to the Book of Common Prayer 1979 it will require the successful voting of acceptance of at least one (for some additions to the BCP formal acceptance at two consecutive General Conventions are required) at the next General Convention in 2015. If it is then approved to be added it generally takes at least six months for the publishers to update and print the new edition of the book. If and when that happens we will be offering the new books for sale as they become available.

All of the Book of Common Prayer 1979 that we offer on our website https://www.episcopalbookstore.com/category.aspx?categoryid=216 are the most up-to-date editions.
How may I help you further

Book of Common Prayer for a Mormon

A customer replied today to my reply to the order we received and shipped yesterday:

I was very excited to find the Episcopal Book Store. I will be purchasing another one of these (Book of Common Prayer 1979) soon for myself. I am purchasing this for a friend of mine who recently was elected as a ward bishop for the LDS church. As your signature is a testament to ecumenism, this order as a gift is celebrating that ecumenism as well.

A couple of the messages from our customers today

Perhaps you will enjoy or appreciate parts of the comments from a couple of our customers that I received today:
The book arrived today.  I expect to delve into it tomorrow afternoon and not come up for breath until I've finished it.  I lived in SC (Charleston) for 40+ years, so any time I see an SC author, I'm game, and am hardly ever disappointed.  Thank you!

I'm delighted to know there is an Episcopal bookstore. I won't be buying many books now, as I'm 86 years old and have macular degeneration. Most of my reading is done on kindle. I'm in process of giving away hundreds of books. Are any of your books available on kindle?

A note we received today from a publisher:

Dear John & Nancy, I wanted you to know that as a result of my visit, we are publishing a BCP XL in a few weeks. Thanks for that suggestion. ... Thanks for a lovely visit and a great idea!! Yours, D.

Two interesting messages today

I received these two replies to orders today. Perhaps you will enjoy them.

1. Do you by ANY chance have any 2012 Episcopal Kalendars left? I've been collecting them since 1987 and I missed year 2012 somehow. Could you tell me how I may obtain one.?

2. Thanks for the Episcopal Shield sew-on patches.
My wife and I will have them sewn onto our motorcycle vests
